Issues regarding a/c installation

There are many things that can go costly wrong with an unprofessional A/C installation and if anything does go wrong, you will find that you are spending more money to revamp than you would have if you had just gotten a professional to begin with.

If you have bought new A/C units, you are probably thinking that you have already spent enough money and are now willing to get the Apt. handyman to do the actual AC installation for you. That is a wise choice only if the apt handyman is an accredited professional who knows what he is doing.

Installing an AC unit may seem simple to anyone who is on the outside looking in and have never actually done a hands on professional installation before. They see the physical aspects but not the technicalities that are needed. Placing the AC compressor in an unsuitable location may prove to be very costly for two major reasons.

The compressor may be tipping or leaning to one side which would give it an uneven bottom that is very susceptible to rocking and movements. Too much movement can lead to cracks in the refrigerant lines which will greatly affect the unit’s ability to cool properly and that will definitely cause an increase in your energy bill. Additionally if the compressor is tipping back away from the building this may put a strain on the connecting wires and the refrigerant line which will produce the same result as mentioned above.

Another issue with the location of the units is the amount of air flow that it will or will not receive based on how the AC installation was done. AC units should not be placed too close together where they have to fight each other for the air and they should not be covered by close or smothering shrubbery.

There have been a lot of issues with AC units being too close to the buildings, but they can also be too far if the proper procedures are not used and the proper precautions are not taken. The distance can be okay if the refrigerant lines are adjusted accordingly. You professional installer will know exactly what to do.

Another thing that your AC installation professional would be aware of is the correct way to provide insulation to those refrigerant lines. Aside from the possible rise in electric bill, missing or ill fitting insulation can also cause damages to your home through the drippings from the condensation of the lines.  These water droplets can eventually lead to rotting and or molds in wood or drywall, this can be a very costly repair or remodeling job that could have been avoided with a proper installation done by a professional contractor.
